Throughout the various Shonen anime franchises that dominate the industry, there have been many characters who use weapons as their primary means of fighting. While, more often than naught, the most common armaments seen in these series are swords, there are still many characters who use different kinds of weapons.
Among these are axe users, or axemen, as they have been called by some. To be as blunt as possible, these are characters who owe much of their power and moveset to their proficiency with an axe, so in the article, let’s go over the six most powerful axe users in all Shonen anime.

The ground literally obeys these strongest earth-users in shonen anime.
Jinin Akebino Was A Deadly Combatant
Anime: Naruto
Although he is classified as one of the 7 Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Jinin Akebino owed his prowess to his axe, Kabutowari. This was a very unconventional axe, as it was a two-handed weapon with an axe on one end and a massive hammer on the other, both of which were loosely connected to one another by a thin rope.
Though this axe wasn’t traditional, it allowed Jinin a lot of free and fast movement, which is typically uncommon in brutish axe wielders. Aside from this, he was a master of the Silent Killing technique, which lets one kill their opponents silently and without leaving a trace. Due to his mastery of the axe and hammer, Jinin was quite a formidable opponent.
Gyomei Himejima Was A Master Of His Weapon
Anime: Demon Slayer
Just like Jinin, Gyomei’s axe was quite unconventional and was even structured quite similar to the Kabutowari. Essentially, it was one short axe connected to a spiked maul on the other end by an incredibly long chain, making it a devastating weapon that could only be used by the strongest person in the entire Demon Slayer Corps.
Due to being the tallest and strongest of all the Hashira in the entire Corps, Gyomei’s skill with his weapon was legendary, proving to be one of the main factors that led to the defeat of Kokushibo and Muzan. Since only Gyomei was strong enough to use this weapon, he cemented himself as one of the strongest axemen in the anime industry.

Scopper Was One Of Roger’s Strongest Allies
Anime: One Piece
Despite the existence of Giants such as Brogy, who have been shown to wield axes, the strongest axeman that has been shown so far in One Piece is none other than Scopper Gaban, the Left Wing of the Pirate King. As one of Roger’s own Monster Trio, Scopper’s strength was absolutely terrifying due to his mastery of all kinds of Haki.
In the Elbaf arc, Scopper showed his proficiency in both axe skills and Conqueror’s Haki against Gear 5 Luffy and Zoro, both of whom are exceptionally powerful characters whom Scopper held at bay. Due to the flashbacks showing Scopper taking on Domi Reversi’d Harald and matching Oden, he has definitely cemented himself as a legendary powerhouse.
Rory Mercury Is A Powerful Demigoddess
Anime: Gate
Though she looks quite different from a standard fighter who uses an axe, Rory Mercury shouldn’t be taken lightly. Despite seeming innocent and unassuming, Rory is a powerful Demigoddess who serves Emroy, who himself is the God of death, violence, and war, which gives an inclination to Rory’s role and overall strength.
As such, her weapon of choice is a massive axe that is significantly larger than herself, though she is able to swing it with ease and finesse. The axe itself is used like a scythe, which has given her the epithet of ‘Rory the Reaper’, and her unmatched strength, speed, and prowess with her weapon makes her a nightmare for anyone to cross.
Dragon Ball: 5 Techniques That Rival Goku’s Kamehameha
The Kamehameha is the most iconic move in Dragon Ball and in anime, but there are a few that are just as strong as it.
Baraggan Is A Deadly And Powerful King
Anime: Bleach
As one of the deadliest members of Aizen’s army, Baraggan was once the king of the Hollow World. Notably, as a Shinigami, Baraggan is able to wield a Zanpakuto, though unlike most others, his Zanpakuto, Arrogante, takes the form of a giant, double-bladed axe rather than a traditional sword.
Arrogante is absolutely huge and is incredibly unruly, which means that it can only be handled by someone possessing immense strength to fully let out its destructive potential. The release attack of this weapon is called Resurrección, and it allows Baraggan to gain an entirely new skeletal appearance and increases all of his stats and abilities further.
Escanor Is Anime’s Greatest Axeman
Anime: Seven Deadly Sins
All the Sins in this series are gifted a powerful weapon whose strength is truly brought out when the sins themselves use them. This is most true for the Divine Axe Rhitta, which is so powerful and heavy that no one other than Escanor himself can wield it. What makes it even better is that Escanor typically wields it in one hand at a time.
The Sacred Treasure Release of Rhitta is exceptionally strong. By using all of its stored magical power, it emits a wave of heat and light that scorches everything in its immediate vicinity. Due to his strength in wielding it and the axe’s own incredible magical properties, Escanor can be considered the greatest axeman in all of anime.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
