The wait for atmospheric dread is almost over. Embark Studios has officially confirmed that the Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update arrives next week on February 24, 2026. Following a tease on the game’s community channels, the developer locked in the date for the extraction shooter’s next major content drop.
The game has been ticking along nicely since the Headwinds update launched in late January, establishing the baseline for Embark’s distinctively retro-futuristic aesthetic. This scheduled arrival aligns perfectly with the studio’s previously released four-month roadmap, which aimed to keep players fed through the spring drought. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, of course; the team recently had to drop the ban hammer on a nasty item duplication exploit, removing ill-gotten gains to stabilize the economy before this new injection of content hits the servers.
Incoming atmospheric hazards
While Embark is keeping the exact patch notes close to its chest until release day, we have a solid shape of what Shrouded Sky brings to the table. According to Insider Gaming, raiders should prepare for a new map condition—likely the titular weather event—alongside a fresh ARC threat to complicate your survival. The update also promises a Raider Deck overhaul, a new Player Project, and a dedicated Expedition window.
For those watching the clock, the update goes live at 10:00 AM GMT / 11:00 AM CET (2:00 AM PT / 5:00 AM ET) next Tuesday. Crucially, community manager Ossen clarified via Discord that there are no major changes planned for the rest of this current week, leaving the stage clear for next week’s drop. While some players were hoping for a completely new zone, Embark has termed this a “map update,” suggesting we’re looking at an evolution of current geography rather than a totally new biome. This update is just the second beat in a four-part rhythm. With Arc Raiders reportedly maintaining a healthy ecosystem of 6 million weekly players, the pressure remains to keep the loop engaging. Once Shrouded Sky clears, eyes will immediately turn to March’s “Flashpoint” update, followed by the highly anticipated “Riven Tides” in April, which is expected to introduce a proper new map. For now, we recommend polishing your loadouts; the weather is about to turn, and the machines aren’t getting any friendlier.
