Arc Raiders CEO confirms movie and TV series offers

Embark Studios’ CEO, Patrick Söderlund, recently participated in an interview with GamesBeat. During the interview, the CEO confirms that the developer has received offers to turn Arc Raiders into a movie or television series, but nothing has been accepted because “it needs to be done in the right way”.

Söderlund says, “I can’t tell you how many companies have reached out wanting to make a TV series [and] movie out of this IP [Arc Raiders]”. The CEO confirms that Embark doesn’t “have anyone working on a TV or film adaptation yet,” but Söderlund believes it would be “fun”.

The biggest hurdle is that “it needs to be done in the right way,” but Söderlund believes “the IP fits quite well”. Unfortunately, the CEO doesn’t clarify which production companies have reached out, nor does he show any preference towards either TV or film.

Video game adaptations for movies and television are nothing new, with recent success stories such as the Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy and the Fallout Amazon Prime series. There are also plenty of projects in the works, such as the Helldivers 2 movie that Arrowhead’s CCO is providing “feedback” for, as well as a Tomb Raider live-action series for Amazon Prime starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.

Companies wanting to adapt Arc Raiders already is a testament to the game’s skyrocketing popularity. Despite launching on October 30, 2025, Arc Raiders was crowned the top-trending video game worldwide for 2025, and the game was one of Steam’s top 12 best-selling games of last year, all while still retaining 90% of its all-time peak player count.

It will be interesting to see if Arc Raiders can maintain its momentum in 2026. Embark has teased “ambitious plans,” and you currently have until January 13 to claim 1,000 free Tokens.
